Who Can Crack Whips?
Thanks to such film characters as Zorro, Catwoman, and Indiana Jones, a growing number of adventurous spirits want to grab
their own whips and join in the action! And it's easy to do - if you have the right person showing you how to do it.
In the United States, there are several good whip instructors, and one of the best is Robert Dante, founder
of the Bullwhip Academy, now in its fourth year. Information is posted on this website and at the Academy's
Yahoo news group. Group lessons, private lessons, open sessions, loaner whips, custom instruction, tricks and stunts for all levels of
expertise -- it's all available at the Bullwhip Academy.

Whip cracking sessions are presented several times a year at Patrick's Cabaret on Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis (map below), when Dante is not traveling to present bullwhip shows. Exact dates and times are posted at the Bullwhip Academy group website at http://groups.yahoo.com/.group/bullwhipacademy
We will observe these little bits of protocol in order to be good neighbors and to promote safe whip cracking:
People who are not cracking whips will be encouraged to 'spot' for active participants.
The fee for this is small and helps to defray expenses, such as venue rental fees.

Whip cracking is fun, and just about anyone can do it -- from kids to retirees. While most people enjoy it as a sport and hobby,
more folks are exploring it as an art form for cabarets and circuses -- and, of course, it is still a staple of the Wild West scene!
